Distress tolerance
Distress tolerance is a one-day course developed by our Chartered Psychologists, drawing on their extensive experience working in the NHS. This course gives participants a toolkit of skills to increase resilience and increase tolerance to distress, in themselves and others.

Course objectives
This course will:
Understand how to cope in situations where you feel you are being undermined, treated unfairly and harassed
Look at how to maintain the balance of care and risk in demanding dynamic situations
Allow you to gain a more balanced understanding of your problem behaviours
Explore tolerance and how to more effectively deal with intense and painful emotions and experiences
Discuss how to be more effective in your relationships with others
Teach you how to deal with conflict, to get what you want and need, and to say no to unwanted demands and requests
Give you skills to tolerate distress
