Human Factors and SuppoRTT Program
At any given time, approximately 5,000 Doctors in Training, or 10% of the national Trainee Doctor workforce, are taking approved time out from training. This Human Factors and SuppoRTT Program is a one-day course skilling those who will support doctors returning to work and training following absence, and designed to help your trust fulfil Health Education England criteria.

Course objectives
This course will:
Refresh your understanding of Human Factors and Human Performance and models of safety in complex environments
Discuss some of the challenges faced by Returning to Training for both the individual and their teams/organisation, as well as opportunities
Explore the impact of time out of work on decision making and situational awareness
Establish how to build confidence and resilience in those returning to work
Look at how you can help returners to feel comfortable in seeking support, and to be able to raise concerns
Examine team behaviours that aid or impede integration of new/returning team members; what role do you play?
